Ellis Island is an interactive story game, relaying the experience of you, an immigrant from across the sea who seeks the promise of opportunity in America.  You will go through mental and physical tests in order to prove your usefulness to society.  Using delayed text, images, and narrative, I used this project to get a more in-depth look at Twine and try to tell an interesting narrative.  When I visited New York, we toured Ellis Island.  I remember taking the mental health test and failing it!  I thought it was interesting how needlessly strict and bleak it was, and wanted to reflect that in the gameplay.  The player sometimes gets the illusion of choice, but a lot of their actions are futile.

The pictures in the game are from Connecticut Public.
